Grand Finale Of ‘Teens Rock – the Battle of Bands’ Concludes; Don Bosco School, Kolkata, Bags Awards Worth INR 2,40,000 Sponsored By Yamaha

Don Bosco School, Kolkata, bagged the first prize, while The Assam Valley School, Guwahati, and The TOC H Public School, Kochi, grabbed the second and the third prizes respectively.

The Grand finale of the sixth edition of ‘Teens Rock – the Battle of Bands’, an initiative by Yamaha Music to promote music amongst students from academic schools, was held at Forum Shantiniketan Mall, Bengaluru, on Dec 7, 2019, witnessing over 112 participants, representing more than 14 high school bands from 14+ cities including Delhi, Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, Chandigarh, and Jaipur. The participating bands competed in preliminary auditions with each band vying to become one of the top 14 bands.

The performances were judged by a panel of nationally acclaimed musicians; Gino Banks, Gulraj Singh and Rhythm Shaw, renowned for their versatile music.

Speaking at the event, Rehan Siddiqui, Assistant General Manager (Musical Instruments) Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Music India said, “Supporting music education in a meaningful way is what Yamaha stands for whole heartedly, and the annual Teen’s Rock event has helped us achieve that mission over the years”.

“The Battle of Bands allows Yamaha to inspire thousands of students, potential music-makers of our country, and support them in achieving amazing heights of musicality and creativity through the musical event”, added Siddiqui.

The winner of the Grand Finale Don Bosco School, Kolkata bagged awards worth INR 2,40,000 sponsored by Yamaha. The Assam Valley School, Guwahati took away the second Prize worth INR 1,60,000 while The TOC H Public School, Kochi bagged the Third Prize worth INR 94,000.
