Google, recently, sent an email communication to its Play Music users asking them to transfer their music to YouTube Music and reminding them that the access to Google Play Music would be removed permanently between October and the end of this year.

In order to retain their purchases made on Google Play Music, users will have an option to download any music that they have purchased or uploaded to Google Play Music, as well as a list of the tracks, playlists and radio stations in their library. The email also read, “We’ll notify you before you lose access to your Google Play Music library and data. You can also delete your Google Play Music data.” So, keep an eye on your inbox friends!

Additionally, the email from Google mentions that the current users can easily transfer their music library from Google Play Music to YouTube Music with just one click, including playlists, uploads and recommendations. The tech giant also reassures Google Play Music users by adding that YouTube Music was built by the same team who built Play Music and with the same passion.

Adding more on to this transition, it is worth to note that the Music store on Google Play will go away in 30 days and users will no longer be able to purchase music on Google Play Music. If you have any pre-orders, please be noted that they too will be cancelled. However, when you transfer, your purchases will move with you to YouTube Music, according to the email sent out to users by Google.

Speaking about the pricing, the company has already made it clear that it will remain the same for YouTube Music. While users can stream the ad-supported version of YouTube Music for free, they can definitely opt-in for an ad-free experience for INR 99 per month.
