As Apple takes down the iPod and smartphones rage in as a single piece of device offering multiple functions including capturing photos/videos, listening to music, and many more, the Chinese based audio company FiiO still has its bet on the standalone music players. The company has recently launched its new portable music player dubbed as the M6 which is capable of playing high-resolution audio in lossless formats including 24-bit aptX HD (backwards compatible with aptX), LDAC, and HWA Hi-Res Bluetooth Audio. Priced at INR 14,990 in India, the music player comes with a FiiO-customized Android OS installed with apps such as NetEase Cloud Music, MOOV, Tidal, and KKBOX. It also enables users to install third-party apps.
On the technical side, the M6 utilizes the same proven high-performance ESS Sabre 9018Q2C chip that combines a capable DAC and a robust amp in one package, the same as the M7. It can also work as an asynchronous USB DAC supporting up to 192kHz/24 bit decoding and function as a Bluetooth transmitter of all formats including LDAC, aptX, aptX HD, and SBC. According to the company’s recent announcement, the M6’s measured signal-to-ratio is ≥118dB and the noise floor is <3uV.
In the M6, you will find an anodized, CNC aluminum alloy body paired with 2.5D glass along with a 3.2 inch IPS HD touchscreen. It also features a 1,200 mAh battery, 2 GB internal storage space, USB Type C, and Samsung Exynos 7270 Dual-core 1GHz 14nm CPU.
